Laminate flooring starts with two layers of moisture-proof, melamine rich cellulose paper. Between these papers is a core layer of medium density or high density fiberboard (MDF or HDF). This decorative material has high quality photographic images of real wood. Melamine resin can then protect the image and make laminate flooring strong and durable.
Production technology
In general, laminates are laminated together using high temperature and high pressure. In some laminate flooring, decorative patterns are printed directly on the core MDF or HDF and then painted to improve strength and wear resistance. Then, some manufacturers use electron beams pointing at the foil like surface of laminate flooring to harden the flooring layer. Its appearance will also vary with the thickness of the solid wood production.
Installation skills
Some laminate flooring can be joined together by hand, while others may need to be tapped lightly with a rubber mallet and striking block. Despite these precautions, laminate flooring is not recommended for areas where water may be exposed. Wet mops are not recommended for laminate flooring, but can be used occasionally.
